As I gaze out
into the great expanse
of the sea
I journey back
to the days
when I chanced
to be free
Verdant farmlands
so widespread in scope
the vastness amazes me
and generates in me
a new sense of hope
As I gaze out
at the pasture’s lea
my mind reflects back
to the day
when they captured me
an unprovoked attack
stealing my liberty
